Canal Park
Canal Park is a lively 3-acre urban park in the Navy Yard/Navy Yard area of Washington, D.C., offering a year-round community gathering place with lots of activity and green space. It was built on the site of the old Washington City Canal and opened in 2012 as part of the neighborhood’s transformation, blending sustainable design with fun public features. The park stretches over three blocks and includes open grassy areas, benches, interactive water features, and a dancing fountain in warm months. During winter, a portion of the park becomes an outdoor ice skating rink.
